While the Religious Studies program is no longer being offered in the form of a MA degree program, we wish to inform you that courses in the field will continue to be offered in English through the Rothberg International School's (RIS) Division of Graduate Studies.
Students who wish to pursue their studies at a graduate level in Jerusalem with top-notch faculty have the following options:
1. They may come for a semester or for a year as non-degree students with a student status of "visiting graduate student". "Visiting graduate students" will have access to all Religious Studies courses offered in English at RIS as well as those courses offered in the main university. At the end of the studies, they will receive an official transcript from the Hebrew University.
2. In addition to this option, we are making available in the existing M.A. program in Jewish Studies a specialized track in Comparative Religions. Students who choose to pursue this option will follow a core curriculum in Jewish Studies but focus a significant portion of their electives in Religious Studies courses.
To view a sample of the kinds of courses offered at the Rothberg International School in the fields of Jewish Studies and Religious studies, please check our course list.
